§ 14-28. Violations and penalties.

  • (a)

    A person violating any of the terms, conditions, regulations, limitations or provisions of this code shall be punished in accordance with section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Port Orange, Florida. Each day that any violation of the terms, conditions, regulations, limitations or provisions of this code continues to exist shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be a separate and distinct offense. Any continuing violations of the terms, conditions, regulations, limitations or provisions of this code may be enjoined and restrained by an injunctive order of the circuit court in appropriate proceedings instituted for such purposes, or by any other proceeding provided by law.

    (b)

    Violations of this code may be referred to the municipal code enforcement board.

    (c)

    In addition to any other remedies, whether civil or criminal, the city shall, at its discretion, have the right to seek the aid of the courts of the state with respect to the enforcement hereof and the violation of this code or any lawful order of the city council, code enforcement board, special master, building official or any other duly authorized city officer or city board.
