§ 14-46. Definitions.

Latest version.
  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Close-out inspection means an investigation of the status of a permit where a required final inspection has not been requested by the contractor even though the improvement has been completed.

Contractor means the person in whose name the permit is issued, whether such person is registered or licensed or is an owner-builder.

Inspection unit means a single inspection for a specific increment of work assigned to a single trade specialty in a single dwelling or single tenant section. For example, an inspection of the electrical rough work on a building is one inspection unit, while a combined framing-electrical-plumbing-mechanical inspection constitutes four inspection units, and an electrical rough inspection in a 12-tenant warehouse building constitutes 12 inspection units.

Reinspection means the inspection of a previously inspected, or previously attempted inspection, of an increment of work.
