§ 14-80. Removal of qualifying individual.

If the individual qualifying on behalf of a firm ceases to be connected with the firm to which a certificate of competency has been issued, the firm shall notify the building official in writing within ten days of such cessation, and the firm shall apply to the building official for an extension of time to qualify for a certificate of competency through another person. An application for a certificate of competency as required under this division shall be filed at the time that the request for extension is made. The building official may grant such extension to allow such applicant to meet the examination or other requirements of this division, which extension shall not exceed 90 days. If the firm fails to notify the building official within the ten-day period, at the end of such period its certificate shall be suspended until such time as the firm files an application for certificate of competency reflecting that the person originally appearing in its behalf has been replaced by another individual who is qualified for the certificate of competency.
