§ 18-1. Buildings must conform to code requirements.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person or legal entity to carry on or conduct any business, profession or occupation in any building or structure in the city if the building or structure fails to comply with any adopted code of the city.

    (b)

    The city manager and the chief building official, or his designee, shall have the right to inspect all buildings or structures in the city for the purpose of determining whether such buildings or structures comply with any adopted city code; and if such building or structure does not comply with any such code, the owner or occupant of such building shall be required to make repairs or alterations to comply with such code.

    (c)

    No business tax receipt shall be issued or granted to any person or legal entity to carry on and conduct a business, profession or occupation in any building or structure in the city which fails to meet all of the requirements of any adopted City Code.
