§ 22-3. When elected officers take office.

(a)

All candidates elected to the city council and the mayor shall take office on the first Tuesday in December beginning in 2010 and continuing thereafter following the regular municipal election at which they were elected.

(b)

A person elected to an office at a special election shall take office on the date of the first regular city council meeting following such special election or on the date of the first city council meeting after the effective date of the vacancy in such office, whichever occurs later.
