§ 2-2. Fingerprinting, other identification of officers and employees.

  • (a)

    All persons employed by the city or who hold any official position with the city shall, within 30 days after such employment or appointment or election to any office in the city, register their fingerprints with the police department and furnish such additional means of identification to the police department as may be required from time to time.

    (b)

    Any employee of the city who fails or refuses to register his fingerprints within the time specified in subsection (a) of this section shall be subject to dismissal or removal from employment, in the discretion of the city manager, and the manager shall have the right to withhold any compensation due such employee until his fingerprints have been registered as set forth in subsection (a) of this section, or such other means of identification furnished as may be required.
