§ 2-234. Fiscal violations by city personnel.

  • Any mayor, member of the council, officer or employee of the city, or other person entrusted with the collection or disbursement of municipal funds, who shall knowingly violate any of the provisions of this article, or aid in such violation, or who shall create, or aid in creating, any liability of the city beyond the expenses as fixed by the budget in the method hereinafter designated, shall be civilly liable to the city for the excess and any loss to the city. Any such person shall also be guilty of a misdemeanor, for which such person or persons shall, upon conviction, be punished as for a violation of this Code.
