§ 50-5. Animals prohibited.

(a)

The terms used in this section, other than those defined in section 50-1, shall have the same meaning as set forth in section 10-3 of this Code.

(b)

No person having charge, care, custody or control of any domestic animal or wildlife shall permit any such animal to be at large upon any public property (except in the case of dogs for city established and approved off-leash dog parks). Provided however, no domestic animal or wildlife shall be allowed indoors at any city facility or onto any athletic field, splash pad or playground. This section shall not apply to police K-9 units used for law enforcement, or service animals.

(c)

Any violation of this section shall be addressed in accordance with section 10-17 of this Code, and shall be punishable as provided in section 10-18 of this Code.
