§ 74-245. Remedial action required.

In the event any prohibited cross connection or other violation of this article is suspected or discovered that poses an imminent threat and substantial danger to public health and the potable water system, the city manager or his designee shall take one or more of the following actions:
(1)

Immediately discontinue the potable water service to the site until the contaminant source is eliminated; or

(2)

Provide notice and an opportunity for a hearing to eliminate any violation of this article; or

(3)

Direct public utilities personnel to act in accordance with section 74-244; or

(4)

With the written permission of the property owner, or upon a lawful order, direct public utilities personnel or a licensed contractor hired by the city to enter upon the property and install, construct, replace, repair or test the required backflow device and bill the property owner or customer for all work performed.
