§ 14-50. Non-routine inspection-based fees.

Latest version.
  • (a)

The building permit fee shall cover only the cost of the normal, or routine, inspections for the building or structure in question. Gas, electrical, mechanical and plumbing fees shall also cover only the cost of the routine inspections for the work in question. Whenever the inspector disapproves the work because the work is not in compliance with a relevant ordinance or code provision, or the inspector is unable to inspect the work upon the first or any subsequent reinspection because the work is inaccessible, concealed, not ready for inspection, incomplete or locked, a reinspection fee shall be charged as provided by resolution of the city council.

    (b)

Pre-power inspections for the purpose of approving connecting electrical power prior to final inspection, shall also be considered non-routine. These pre-power inspections shall require a separate fee to be paid as established by resolution of the city council.

    (c)

None of the foregoing fees shall cover the cost of reinspecting work which is rejected during inspection; instead, the reinspection fees established by resolution of the city council shall cover such reinspections.
