§ 14-53. Refunds.

  • When the permit holder cancels the proposed improvement or withdraws the application, fees paid for building permits may be refunded as follows:

    (1)

    Eighty percent of the building permit fee shall be refunded if a refund is requested after the issuance of the permit and before commencement of work on the project, provided the permit was issued not more than six months prior to such refund request.

    (2)

    Seventy-five percent of the building permit fee shall be refunded if a refund is requested after commencement of work on the project and before the first inspection, provided that the permit was issued not more than six months prior to such refund request and all work included in the scope of the permit and already performed on site is removed.

    (3)

    No refund shall be given if the permit has been issued for at least six months, regardless of the stage of construction, or the permit cost is less than $50.00.
