§ 14-90. Local specialty contractor license categories and competency requirements.

  • (1)

    Local specialty contractor license categories.

    (a)

    Storm shutter and awning contractor, and the license shall designate the authorized scope of work and the classification of construction.

    (b)

    Categories and job scopes established under the Florida Administrative Code pursuant to the rule making of the Construction Industry Licensing Board for the State of Florida.

    (2)

    Competency requirements for storm shutter and awning contractor. The applicant for a specialty contractor category shall demonstrate the qualities and characteristics and shall have provided the documents as follows:

    (a)

    Three notarized reference affidavits attesting that the reference has direct knowledge of the applicant's ability as a contractor for the category being sought.

    (b)

    Evidence of knowledge of the type of the construction sought to be performed, including structural components; with a minimum of two years experience under the supervision of a certified or registered, general, building or residential contractor performing construction of the type sought in the application.

    (c)

    The specialty contractor shall be required to provide the registration application, insurance and application fee; and to comply with permitting and all other requirements of the section.
