§ 26-6.2. Declaration of state of emergency.

  • (a)

    A state of emergency shall be declared by executive order when a promulgating authority finds pursuant to F.S. § 252.38(3)(a)5, that an emergency has occurred or that the threat thereof is imminent.

    (b)

    The initial duration of any state of emergency declared shall be seven days. When necessary, a state of emergency may be extended by executive order in seven-day increments.

    (c)

    Any declaration of a state of emergency may be altered or rescinded either by the issuance of a subsequent executive order or by an appropriate resolution of the city council.
