§ 74-78. Monthly service charges and availability charges.

(a)

All monthly charges for sewer service shall be set by resolution of the city council and the method of billing shall be pursuant to section 2-240 of the Code.

(b)

A monthly minimum charge (availability charge) for sewer service shall be assessed for sewer [service] that is available but not yet connected.

(c)

All water measured through existing potable irrigation (water only) meters shall be excluded from the computation of water consumed under the terms of subsection 74-35(a) for the purpose of computing monthly sewer service charge. The rates for sewer service established by resolution shall not be applied to water measured through irrigation meters.

(d)

The minimum monthly sewer charge (availability charge) shall not be suspended during vacation periods or such periods of time that a property is vacated and this minimum charge (availability charge) may be levied as provided and established by resolution of the city council.
